Two are dead over 30 are injured in an Irving, Texas bus crash on Thursday. A tour bus carrying a group of 45 people was en route to an Oklahoma casino when it rolled over on the George Bush Turnpike in Irving, Texas, outside Dallas. Witnesses said it seemed like the bus blew a tire and was thrown off balance. The bus crashed around 9am when it was traveling northbound Hwy 161, the George Bush Turnpike, near Belt Line Road.
Sixteen of the 30 injured in the Texas bus crash were said to be in critical condition at local hospitals. Dr. Paul Pepe of Parkland Memorial Hospital said a majority of the tour group were senior citizens: "Being elderly, we are watching them like hawks," he said. The George Bush Turnpike has been shut down while investigators analyze the scene and spilled fuel from the bus is cleaned up.
The bus, owned by Cardinal Coach Lines of Mansfield, Texas, had a clean record prior to the bus crash, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Administration.
