The Ford Focus ST is one fun car. With 252 hp and 270 lb.-ft. of torque from the 2.0 liter Ecoboost four cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual, the ST is capable of 0-60 in just 6.5 seconds as well as a top speed of 154 mph.
Best of all, all that fun is guilt-free because Ford has released the official Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fuel economy ratings for the 2013 Focus ST model. The first four-cylinder performance EcoBoost engine nets 32 mpg on the highway, 23 mpg in the city, and 26 mpg combined.
Compared to its most direct competitors, the manual transmission Volkswagen GTI five-door achieves 21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway while the MazdaSpeed3 gets 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Not only will the ST post the best EPA rating, its power output also appears to be the Goldilocks of the trio, sitting neatly in between the less powerful GTI and the torque steering MazdaSpeed.
