A 12-year-old boy reportedly killed himself after his parents refused to take him along with them to attend a relative's wedding in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India on Saturday, Feb. 12.
The minor, Aryan Karosia, a sixth-grade student, was found hanging from the ceiling of his family's home in Govindpura locality on Saturday, Feb. 12. Even though the police failed to recover a suicide note from the scene, they suspect that the boy took his own life.
On early Saturday, while Karosia's parents were getting ready to attend a wedding of their kin in the Karond area in Nishatpura, the boy expressed his interest in wanting to accompany them to the occasion. However, even though he tried to persuade his parents several times, they refused to do so, which reportedly left him heartbroken, NDTV reported.
After Karosia’s parents left to attend the function, his elder brother Ayush, 16, left for a local club at around 7 p.m. When Ayush returned a while later, he found that the doors of their house were open. When he walked in, he discovered the body of his brother hanging from a hook with a scarf tied as a noose.
Ayush then asked their neighbors for help. They immediately transported the boy to a private hospital in the Piplani area for treatment. However, the doctors at the facility referred them to another private hospital, India Today reported.
When they brought Karosia to the second private hospital, the staff also refused to admit him and declared the minor dead upon arrival.
According to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Dhanraj Dubey, who is investigating the incident, the boy resided with his parents in the E-Sector Barkheda area in Govindpura. Karosia's father reportedly works as a teacher at a private school in Bhopal; the deceased boy was in sixth grade in the same school.
According to the statements taken from the parents and other family members, the boy was rigid in his approach and was likely unable to accept that he had not been taken to the party.
Meanwhile, the officers have ruled out foul play in the case even though no suicide note was recovered from the site of the incident.
