Ana De la Reguera has landed a role on a new highly-anticipated Netflix series. "Narcos" is written by Christ Brancato whose credits include "Beverly Hills 90210," "The X-Files," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Hannibal." The drama is the true-life story of the growth and spread of cocaine drug cartels across the world. Most of the conflict centers around the infamous kingpin Pablo Escobar who will be played by Wagner Moura. De La Reguera will play Elisa a quiet, beautiful woman who hides her good looks and athletic build in baggy clothes and shaggy hair. She is a real woman of the Comuna, working with children in her comuna and teaching them dance, with secret ties to guerrilla extremists.
Ana De la Reguera is best-known for starring in movies like voicing a character on "The Book Of Life," "Nacho Libre," "Ladies' Night," "Así Del Precipicio" and "Cowboys & Aliens." She also has an extensive resume in television starring in series like "Capadocia," "Eastbound & Down" and special guest-starring roles in "Royal Pains" and "Anger Management." For Latino audiences her face is mostly remembered for telenovelas like "Pueblo Chico, Infierno Grande," "Todo Por Amor," "Cara o Cruz" and "Gitanas." Her co-star from the latter soap Manolo Cardona, has also been cast in the Netflix drama. Cardona is set to play Eduardo Mendoza, the baby-faced chief of the National Prison System, an inexperienced, kind, idealistic man-child with a can-do attitude who was wrongly blamed for Escobar’s escape from La Catedral.
Other actors in the series include Pedro Pascal, who will portray Javier Peña, a Mexican DEA agent sent to Colombia on a U.S. mission to capture and ultimately kill Pablo Escobar. "Narcos" is set to start shooting and will be directed by José Padilha. He is best known for working on the "Elite Squad" movie series as well as the reboot of "Robocop" that released earlier this year. "Narcos" is set to premiere on the streaming service in 2015.
