We are nearing the end of 2014 and you know what that means: it's time to look ahead into the new year. For Taiwanese tech giant HTC, 2015 is all about the upcoming HTC One M9 flagship, which is expected to launch during the first quarter of 2015.
The current HTC One M8 is one of the most greatest Android phones on the market today. Of course, let's not forget that it won Global Mobile Award for Best Smartphone at Mobile World Congress before its official release. Now, the upcoming HTC One M9 is slated to carry the momentum forward and become the most desirable new Android when it hits the shelves.
"Slated for a first quarter 2015 launch, the HTC M9 and HTC M9 Prime will be the next full refreshes of the One Mx family," tweeted tech tipster @evleaks. That said, we're still waiting for an official announcement from the company. According to International Business Times India, the HTC One M9 is expected to unveil at the Mobile World Congress expo, held from March 2 to March 5, 2015.
Obviously, HTC is keeping details of the upcoming M9 very close to the chest, but industry experts have made a list of anticipated specs that will likely be found in the latest device. First, the display in the HC One M8 is a respectable 5.0-inch Super LCD3 capacitative touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 resolution and a pixel density of 441 ppi. According to speculators, the HTC One M9 will be bigger at 5.5-inches and boast 2560 x 1440 resolution and a pixel density of 534 ppi.
Inside, the heart of the HTC One M8 is a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor. Next year, the HTC One M9 could have a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 or even a robust octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor! Finally, 3GB RAM will give the M9 the quick response that compliments the Snapdragon 810's processing power. No doubt, the new hardware will run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop by Google right out of the box.
Of course, the HTC One M9 isn't all business: the current HC One M8 features a dual 4MP camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash that captures 3D photos. The new HC One M9 is likely to carry on the feature with an incremental megapixel increase. To take on the media files, the HTC One M9 is expected to come with 64 or 128GB of storage.
Stay tuned as we learn more details about the highly anticipated HTC One (M9) in the months ahead.
