Diego Luna and Kirsten Dunst have many fans confused after the two were spotted leaving a nightclub together during the 69th Annual Cannes Film Festival in France.
Photos that show Dunst in Luna's arms and having a great ole' time in mid-May have sparked rumors that the two Hollywood stars are probably dating; especially since their hanging out comes after Dunst recent split from Garret Hedlund, her boyfriend of four years.
Luna, who was promoting his latest movie "Blood Father" at the film festival, recently opened up about the chisme and set the record straight for both his and Dunst's fans.
"I didn't even see them, but they told me about them," Luna told Mexico's Radio Fórmula about the candid pictures making the rounds. He then talked of the great friendship he has with the "Spiderman" actress, insisting that there is no romance between them and they are only "cuates."
"I get along very well with her from before, only that nobody has every taken photos of us, but we're good friends," he said in the interview. "We've been friends for a long time, ever since I began to travel to the United States with 'Y Tu Mamá También,' that's where we met," he added.
Luna, 36, and Dunst, 34, who, from the looks of it have been friends since 2001, were both jury members at the 69th Annual Cannes Film Festival.
Although Luna came clean about the rumors, he did admit to Radio Fórmula that his woman crush is Mexican colleague, Salma Hayek, who also attended the reputed event.
On another hand, Luna is stoked with the upcoming release of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," where he stars as Captain Cassian Andor, a Rebel Alliance Officer.
"The communication when I'm on set is normal, but since I live in Mexico I am completely isolated from what is happening" he said of the flick. "Therefore, all this time that I've been in Mexico I have no idea of how the movie is going. I want it to be December already," he added.
The movie, directed by Gareth Edwards, is set to release December 16, 2016.
