After adopting two adorable pitbulls, Bronx and Bette Davis, in an LA-based animal shelter, Daisy Fuentes is encouraged to help promote animal adoption. The Cuban model and TV personality has joined the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to help raise awareness and speak out on behalf of our furry friends.
"Before, I didn't know how shelters, adoption centers and breeding facilities worked," she expressed to People en Español, admitting that many years ago she and her family bought a dog at a breeder and they had no knowledge of the amount of cruelty that happens at the stores. "We didn't know that there were so many dogs being killed every day because nobody was adopting and there was no space for all of the beautiful dogs," she added.
Fuentes, who married '90s crooner Richard Marx in December at a private wedding in Aspen, Colorado, also told the magazine that she's in love with her two doggies. "They sleep in their bed on the other end of my room, but at a distance where I can see them," she said, also revealing that every morning they jump on her bed and cuddle with her. "It's a love attack, we hug and we stay sleeping for about another 15 to 20 minutes, it's the best," Fuentes said.
